Everybody's Humpin' Around

Those of you who were teenagers in the 90s will remember Bobby Brown's song "Humpin' Around". My friends and I would make fun of that song and sing "Everybody's humpin' the ground"...and now I can serenade Nicholas with that song.

He started attempting to scoot on his tummy last week and the way he does it is to hump the ground, and it's hilarious and adorable! I decided to record it tonight because it was so funny. The best part was that he actually succeeded in scooting backwards tonight! He gets really into the humping and scooting starting at the 1:40 mark in the first video.

Enjoy!

The High Chair Decision

Now that Nicholas is sitting up and eating solid foods, we had to make the decision of whether to buy a full high chair, or just buy a booster seat. We really didn't want to add another piece of furniture to our main floor (especially now that half of the family room is taken up by baby toys), and didn't want to spend a lot of money unnecessarily, so after much deliberation and the helfpul advice of my friends on Facebook, we settled on a fully functional $30 booster seat! And, as you can see, Nicholas seems pleased with our decision.

My Funny Valentine

Here are some pictures of Nicholas as our little Hershey's Kiss, and in his outfit for his first Valentine's Day. Love you little man!!

Such a Fun Age!

Nicholas is at such a fun age right now. It’s amazing to see him learning and doing new things every day.

He is absolutely loving solid foods, and the biggest shock of all is that his favorite so far is peas! So far he has tried sweet potatoes, peas, pears, carrots, bananas, and squash. He loved bananas, but they didn’t love him back, so we’re leaving those alone for awhile. He gets so excited when we pull out his bowl and spoon every night, and he devours his food.

He smiles and laughs all the time!

And today was the first day that we can officially say that he is sitting up on his own. He’s been sitting for several weeks, but it has been only for a few seconds at a time, and when he would get off balance, he would topple over. But today, he sat up for minutes on end without any assistance, and without toppling over.

And to top it off, we went to the playground and got in the swing for the first time and had a great time. It even looked like he was trying to pump his legs!

And then we came home and he tried on the adorable coat that his Abu knitted for him.

We love you Nicholas!!
